Szczyrk is a city of 5,500 inhabitants, situated in Beskid Śląski mountains, in a deep valley of the Żylica stream, at the height of 500 - 600 m above sea level.
It is surrounded from the north by the massif of Klimczok (1119 m above sea level) and from the south by the summits of: Skrzyczne (1257 m above sea level), Malinów (1095 m above sea level), in the neighbourhood of which Poland’s "ski centre" is located.
Szczyrk has the highest number of ski lifts in Poland (almost 50) and the greatest number of ski routes (more than 60 km), including 2 FIS-licensed routes.
